Young Jazz Players Program

This year’s festival incudes a young Jazz players program “Learn to improvise and play Jazz Standards” 11 am - 5 pm on 21st September at the Anglican Church Hall (corner of William St and George St). The day will include workshop sessions with expert tutors, a free BBQ lunch, participation in the jazz parade, guided listening sessions, and will culminate in a group performance at 4.30 pm. Young musicians will have the opportunity to learn how to improvise over jazz standards and understand their role in a ‘jazz band’. Students will learn the hidden language of playing live jazz and build confidence in this setting. The day concludes with a Young Jazz Players Concert at the Longford Town Hall for parents and family members.
